    NEW FOR THE 2027 FUNDING OPPORTUNITY CYCLE

    Heart & Stroke wishes to remind all applicants we annually update our guidelines and documents and that It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that all submissions conform to the guidelines of the funding opportunity to which they apply. Updates can include guideline layout, general program information and eligibility requirements for our research programs. We introduced requirements in our ongoing commitment to responsible research and inclusive practices. Guidelines updates include:

    • Policy updates on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the peer review policy; applicants are encouraged to review the updated guidelines for full details.
    • CIHR Sex and Gender GBA+ Training Module requirement: There have been changes to the CIHR sex and gender GBA+ training module requirements; applicants are encouraged to review the updated guidelines for full details.
    • Heart & Stroke BioSketch Exemplars: New exemplars are now available to guide applicants in preparing clear, well-structured BioSketches and effectively presenting their experience and contributions. Please find the exemplars in the Resources section below.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING

  • Applications must be submitted online by 15:00 EDT on the submission deadline date
    CIRCUlink will not accept submissions after the deadline (date and time). There will be no appeal process for a late submission. Heart & Stroke advises and strongly recommends all applicants to submit well before the deadline date and time. Registration closes at 13:00 EDT.
  • Application deadline support notice: Heart & Stroke will attempt to provide support to all applicants requiring assistance leading up to the deadline of 15:00 EDT for each award. Please be advised that due to limited resources Heart & Stroke cannot provide any assurances of available support after 14:00 EDT on the specified deadline date. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that a completed application is submitted prior to the deadline. Heart & Stroke strongly recommends that applications be submitted well before the 15:00 EDT deadline.
  • Applicants are expected to review the relevant sections in the updated guidelines to ensure their submissions align with current requirements. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that all submissions conform to the guidelines of the funding opportunity to which they apply.

HOW TO APPLY

NEW USERS:

  1. Select 🔍 Browse Funding Opportunities in the menu bar on the left and search for "GIA", "GIA-I", "NI", "PFA", "WPA", "MSc", "PhD", "PDF", "BSA", or "ISA".
  2. A wizard will guide you through creating your profile and the application process.

RETURNING USERS:

  1. Enter your username and password in the corresponding fields in the menu bar on the left.
  2. Click Login.
